Welcome to the Advanced Nanofluid Research Laboratory at Northern Illinois University!

Our focus is investigating the interaction of nanoparticles with varying base fluids under different environmental and operating conditions.

We're very new, but stay tuned for exciting developments in the near future!

MY LATEST RESEARCH

These are some of the nanoparticles we are using in the lab. Click on each picture to find out more about each nanoparticle and how we are using them to enhance thermophysical properties of base fluids.

These vials contain molten salt with varying volumetric concentrations of nanoparticle suspensions. By adding these nanoparticles to the molten salt, the specific heat capacity, melting temperature, freezing temperature, and latent heat of fusion are affected. Click below to find out how!
